Toby Snelgrove, Ph.D

a principal of Easton-Snelgrove Inc. has been actively involved in development of workplace and community trauma response to shocking or tragic events, often referred to as Critical Incidents. Though based in Vancouver, BC, Canada, he has consulted, provided training services, and/or offered trauma response services to many organizations including:

Clinically, Toby specializes in a variety of areas including short and long-term therapy with adults; relationship counselling; and acute traumatic stress debriefing and counselling.

Toby also provides clinical services to groups and organizations. This includes team building, trauma debriefing, conflict resolution and other in-house programs. Through this role, Toby has trained, debriefed and developed programs for a wide variety of organizations including community critical incident stress teams; hospitals; fire and ambulance services; educational institutions; policing and corrections services; First Nations communities; industry; air traffic control; coast guard; search and rescue; Canadian Armed Forces; and the United Nations. He has also been involved in producing a variety of written and video material on critical incident stress.

Toby received his B.A. in psychology and sociology from Trent University; M. Ed. focusing on applied behavioural sciences from Boston University; and Ph.D. in Health and Human Services specializing in counselling from Columbia Pacific University.

Toby is a clinical member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy; International Association of Trauma Counsellors; International Association of Traumatic Stress Studies; International Critical Incident Stress Foundation; and the Canadian Psychological Association.
